Dirty Diapers Should Go Into the Trash, Right?
Diapers, diapers everywhere! This has been one of my pet peeves for as long as I can remember.
I just don’t get people who leave dirty diapers anywhere and everywhere they go.
Now that I have a baby, I still don’t understand.
What kind of person, just drops a dirty diaper where ever they happen to be?
I have personally seen dirty diapers left in parking lots, in parks, in shopping carts, on hiking trails, in stores and more.
Who thinks this is okay?
I don’t understand the thought process of; “I’ll just leave my child’s dirty diaper here for someone else to clean up!”
- Who failed to teach this person appropriateness? Hygiene? Class?
- Did their parents behave in a similar matter?
- Do they think that it is okay to just toss their trash aside for us to pick up?
I am even shaking my head right now. I found a blog on etiquette, which covered this topic, as well.
We’ve Been There, Too
We have had to change DJ in the car, on the run, in the store, on picnic tables, in his car seat, on benches, in his stroller, at the fair, etc. and even on a bathroom floor!
Did it ever cross my mind or Lynn’s mind to just toss the diaper on the ground for someone else to clean up? No!
If there hasn’t been a trash can immediately available, we have taken the diaper with us.
In fact, just the other night, I remembered that there was a dirty diaper left on the floor of my car after we changed DJ in the back seat. Don’t worry, I pulled over, while Lynn, who happened to be riding in the back seat, changed him.
The point is that we didn’t just roll down the window and toss it out.
I am Not Alone
I am not the only one who seems to think that this is a rant worthy topic. I found this blog by a mommy, who felt the same way.
She happens to belong to a mommy group where they don’t judge … but even she had to rant about this behavior.
Also, as this mommy pointed out, you never know what was left behind by the last person who used your shopping cart, so I guess it is time to start wiping them down before I set Daniel into one.
It Won’t Cost You Anything
There is a simple fix.
We all go shopping, right? Pack a couple of used plastic shopping bags into your diaper bag.
If you and your baby are too cool for school, they do sell scented diaper disposal bags at the market! They do; I saw them the other night while shopping with Lynn and Danny Boy. Google it.
There is no excuse.
Diapers, Diapers Everywhere, No More
I know that most of you who read my blogs would never consider leaving your diaper behind.
However, if it is something you have done in the past, the rest of us would like to ask you to take care of your own business!
Don’t leave your diapers for someone else to pick up.
If your parents didn’t teach you any better, you no longer have that excuse.
I am telling you now, it is not cool to leave your baby’s diaper anywhere, but in a trash can. Period!
